This past weekend saw a celebration and a half for those deeply involved in freight industry, from shippers through hauliers to forwarders like ourselves. As an ongoing yearly tradition, Banks & Lloyd, as always, was sure to join in. Along with all our Valencian colleagues and peers within the industry, we all took part in celebrating the event to show each other the appreciation that goes towards all the hard work we put into freight and supply chain management, allowing us all the achieve the best results we possibly can for those that need to move their goods.

Taking place in very close proximity to the port of Valencia (and our Valencia office), the mass gathering can only be described as a momentous Paella cook off with fantastic, flavoursome food galore accompanied with mascletas (fireworks) and lots of good-vibe music leading into the evening as the sun tucks itself in for the night behind the horizon.

The celebration forms part of the larger Las Fallas De Valencia (a regional firework celebration like no other. Nothing can quite prepare you for the intensity of firework displays across the city, which focus more on the rhythm and feel of the firework as apposed to the visual aspect… and it’s the roaring, earth-shaking volume of some of the displays that is enough to knock your socks off!)

So, with the heat from the Valencian sun providing a good dose of vitamin D, the energy from the copious amounts of Paella and the community building event to appreciate all our roles in the vitally important world of freight, the real heart and soul of what we love to do, we head back into the new week refuelled and ready to continue to thrive and achieve better than we have ever before (plus a few notes on how to improve on Bonfire night!)

“I love what I see, help me transport cargo!”
